Finally Back At It Again !!

This weekend I didn't get to play on my loom due to family visiting.  My loom called me every morning and I felt like I was ditching my new best friend.  But family first!! 

After the busy weekend, I was able to verify my work on the sleying the reed and then last night I was able to thread the heddles.  It is a simple 1, 2, 3, 4 thread pattern but it is a start.  Tonight, I will check my threads for any that are crossed.  Also, this pattern calls for 2 threads per dent.  So keeping all of that straight too.  I hope to get it beamed tonight and tied up tonight to be at a good starting place tomorrow.

Four legged friends ~

Last fall on my way to work, this handsome guy took his time walking across the road.  He was beautiful and since he lives here is very used to making himself at home. My small farm is just enough to keep be busy all the time.  The nice thing is that I have company with me all the time if outside working on things.   The Alpacas are settled in well.  Yahtzee (llama) the patriarch of the farm has accepted them into his life.  At 20 years old, that can be a great accomplishment. This winter has been brutal across the United States and even colder here than normal.  We have extreme summers and winters here in The Dalles, Oregon, but this year really cold and lots of snow. Summer Over - Weaving Again

This summer for some reason has been exceptionally busy.  Not sure why, life just gets in the way sometimes.  Hopefully things will start slowing down and I can get back to doing what I love....weaving and seeing what catches my eye to make.  Lots of ideas and NEVER enough time. These are the latest colors I am working with.  16/2 Linen.  I have high hopes for this project in a shadow weave.   The progress has been slow.   I was able to get some weaving done last weekend.  So far this variation of Shadow Weave is turning out nice and very bright.   The linen is a crisp fiber and it is turning out beautiful.  Hopefully, when it is all said and done it will be a table runner. The final product.  It was a slow weave, but I learned a lot.
